This blog will become my journal for a journey. The truth is I'd much prefer to have a diary of some kind, a hand-bound book with a beautiful fabric cover and thick, textured pages. I detest technology and resent the sound of the computer whirring away beneath my hands, the electromagnetic waves that are supposed to deplete my immune system. But as a means of friends and relatives keeping in touch with this journey, it is unsurpassed in efficiency and its global-reaching aspect.
